Oral Health Tips

Oral health is an essential component of health throughtout life. Poor oral health and untreated can have a significant impact on quality of life. They can affect the most basic human needs,including the ability to drink and eat, swallow, smile, and communicate. For that following some oral health tips :

1. Brush your teeth at least twice a day
2. Use fluoride toothpaste
3. Floss daily or use interdental brushes for those hard to reach areas
4. Change your toothbrush at least every three months
5. Chew sugar free gum after meals to neutralise the harmful acid that can cause plaque and tooth decay

6. Try eating sugar-free yoghurt, as this lowers the levels of hydrogen sulphide, the major cause of bad breath
7. Eat plenty of vitamin C in the form of citrus fruit - this promotes wound healing and can help fight gum disease
8. Eating iron-rich foods can help improve the condition of gum tissue
9. After eating sugary or acidic foods, trying eating a small amount of cheese to counteract the effects of plaque acid
10. Quit smoking and limit your alcohol consumption to reduce your chances of contracting mouth cancer
11. Visit your dentist regularly for check ups and keep up to date with your hygiene treatment
