Robot for Post-Stroke Physiotherapy

Paralysis is often experienced after a stroke, of whom at the arms. Now the experts are developing a robot to train the function of motion in that section.
Quoted from the BBC, a team of researchers from Brown University in Rhode Island who discovered the device described it as power steering for the arms. Patient's upper arm to stay put in the tool that is named MIT-Manus, and perform specific movements. Robot will recognize the movement, gave impetus to help if needed.

Many stroke patients feel the improvement of quality of life after assisted appliance. Tests conducted on 127 patients, who on average have had a stroke 5 years earlier. They were divided into 3 groups and given different treatment.

The first group to get physiotherapy with a robot for 3 months. The second group received physiotherapy with the same intensity, but accompanied by the physiotherapist. A third group was usual care only, without intensive therapy.

Observations were made on the ability to perform everyday movements like holding silverware, opening the bottle, to tie shoes. The results, accompanied by physiotherapy with a robot and physiotherapist together provide a significant improvement of movement function.

The experts recognize a stroke in England, this finding is very interesting. But so could not yet widely used, because it is still in early stages of development.

Fisioerapi intensively indeed needed by patients after a stroke, to maximize the recovery of the lost motion function. These therapies need assistance so that the constraints faced by the energy and time required is not small.

Blood Waterfall Appeared in Antarctica

Blood red waterfall flowing very slowly on Taylor Glacier in Antarctica at the McMurdo Dry Valleys. Geologists first discovered the waterfall was frozen in 1911.
Scientists think the red color comes from algae, but it turns out it's a natural occurrence which makes it even more spectacular.

For nearly 2 thousand years, the glaciers Taylor covered under water containing small amounts of ancient microbial communities. Trapped under a thick layer of ice, they were there since then, isolated in a natural time capsule. Existing cracks in the glacier causes subgletser lake flowed out, forming a stream without contaminating the surrounding ecosystem.

Independently evolved in a world of alienation, these microbes live in a world without light or oxygen, and heat is very minimal. The event is called the primordial low flow. The lake is trapped has a high salinity level and rich in iron, which gives the red color on these waterfalls.

The presence of blood flow ecosystems show that life is possible even in the most extreme conditions of earth though.

Thanks to life which was never seen eye directly, the phenomenon of blood flow in the Antarctic Ocean has become incredibly good visually as well as scientific

Sharp LCD Products Change Rules 3D

Developing 3D touch-screen LCD is very unique that does not need to use special glasses. Sharp's 3D TV sure would like a color TV to replace black-and-white TV.

This unique LCD suitable for use on mobile devices such as cameras, cell phones and smartphones. The 3D LCD newly developed separator system is to use parallax to display the 3D image.

That system has a series of vertical cracks are integrated into regular LCD monitor for street light that reaches the eyes right and left, thus creating the impression depth of the image.

3D LCD developed by Sharp is currently experiencing significant improvement in image quality to produce bright images and low crosstalk. This is caused by the use of CG-Silicon technology 3 and optimization of the separator parallax.

CG-Silicon technology able to close distance with a cable the LCD panel that makes much more light to enter. It also doubled the image brightness (500 cd/m2) compared with conventional models.

Sharp has also developed non-touch screen LCD 3D and started mass production in April 2010. Sharp hopes to replace the TV 3 television Dimension 2 Dimension, like color television replaced black and white television.
