Geological Wonders of the World

Save a lot of natural wonders. Every country has a fascinating area. These are some places in the world who entered the category of 'geological wonders' you may already know, or did not you realize.

1. The Wave, United States
Located between Arizona and Utah, USA. This stunning red rock located on the border of Arizona and Utah, USA. The Wave was formed from sand dune 190 million-year-old who was turned into stone.

Formation of a little-known people can only be accessed by walking through a small street about three miles uphill.

2. Antelope Canyon, Arizona, United States
Antelope canyon or Antelope Canyon is a famous gorge located in Page, Coconino County, Arizona, United States.

This canyon areas into the complex Navajo Indian Reservation, the area's largest shelter for Dine Indians from North America, also called Navaho or Navajo.

Antelope Canyon was formed by erosion of Navajo Sand Stone, primarily due to flash floods and later because of sub-aerial processes.

3. Great Blue Hole, Belize
Part of the Lighthouse Reef System, the Great Blue Hole is located approximately 60 miles from the mainland of Belize City. Shaped like a big hole almost perfectly, with a depth of about 125 meters and 300 meters in diameter.

The depth of water makes a very blue color. This is believed to be the world's largest ocean holes and has a big attraction for divers.

4. Crystal Cave of the Giants, Mexico
Found deep in a mine in Chihuahua, Mexico. Known as "the Sistine Chapel of crystals", Mexico's Cueva de los Cristales (Cave of Crystals) contains natural crystals are world famous. These crystals have an average length of 11 meters.

5. Eye of the Sahara, Mauritania
A land in Mauritania, south-western part of the Sahara has a spectacular view. Threaded circle with a diameter of 30 miles - like eyes. Because of this magnitude can be seen from outer space.

Formation was originally suspected as the impact of a meteorite collision but, geologists now believe this is the result of elevation and soil erosion. However, what makes a circular shape, is still mysterious.

6. Blue Lake Cave, Brazil
Mato Grosso do Sul region of Brazil has some beautiful underground lake, there Gruta do Lago Azul, Gruta do Mimoso, and Aquario Natural.

The most famous, Gruta do Lago Azul or Blue Lake Cave - decorated with stalactites and stalagmites and incredibly blue lakes. The beauty of the lake was very impressive.

7. Giants Causeway, Irlandia
Is an area of 40 000 which consists of pieces of the column. Giants Causeway is the result of ancient volcanic eruptions.

Located in the north-east coast of Northern Ireland, mostly hexagonal columns, although there are also some of the terms of the four, five, seven and eight. The highest column is 12 meters, and high profits that hardens on the cliff is 28 meters.

8. Hell Gate, Turkmenistan
There in the Karakum Desert in Turkmenistan. Near the remote village, inhabited by 350 people Derweze, there is a crater 60 meters wide and within 20 meters.

This crater is continually generate fire and burned for 38 years.

By local residents, this smoldering crater known as Crater Gas Darvaza or also better known as the 'Gate of Hell'. These craters can be seen from a distance of several kilometers.

This is not a natural phenomenon, but rather the result of industrial accidents. In 1971, a Soviet drilling rig was incidentally related to an underground cave that holds the gas in massive quantities.

9. Wave Rock, Australia
Rock or stone Wafe waves are natural rock formation located in Western Australia. Shaped like a circular waves.

One wave has a height of about 15 meters long and 110 meters.

10. Chocolate Hills, Philippines.
Consisting of about 1268 with a perfect cone-shaped hill about the same size, spread in an area of more than 50 square kilometers. Is a geological formation which is very unusual, called Hill Chocolate, located in Bohol, Philippines.

Blood Waterfall Appeared in Antarctica

Blood red waterfall flowing very slowly on Taylor Glacier in Antarctica at the McMurdo Dry Valleys. Geologists first discovered the waterfall was frozen in 1911.
Scientists think the red color comes from algae, but it turns out it's a natural occurrence which makes it even more spectacular.

For nearly 2 thousand years, the glaciers Taylor covered under water containing small amounts of ancient microbial communities. Trapped under a thick layer of ice, they were there since then, isolated in a natural time capsule. Existing cracks in the glacier causes subgletser lake flowed out, forming a stream without contaminating the surrounding ecosystem.

Independently evolved in a world of alienation, these microbes live in a world without light or oxygen, and heat is very minimal. The event is called the primordial low flow. The lake is trapped has a high salinity level and rich in iron, which gives the red color on these waterfalls.

The presence of blood flow ecosystems show that life is possible even in the most extreme conditions of earth though.

Thanks to life which was never seen eye directly, the phenomenon of blood flow in the Antarctic Ocean has become incredibly good visually as well as scientific

Solved The Origin Of Ants

Researchers found the fossil ants in the sap of 95 million years old. The finding was challenged earlier well-established theory, regarding the origin of ants.

Ants are found in Africa and challenged the conclusions of ants from North America or South Asia.

The findings were part of a wider study in the Proceedings of the National Academic Science that identified 28 fossils of insects, one fossil and one spider mite, including varieties of flora that are trapped in the sap in Ethiopia.

Who identified the oldest insect in Africa is from Crataceous. There are also some fungi, spores of ferns and previously unknown to paleontologists.

Until now, paleontologists assumed ants from North America or South Asia because they only found the fossils come from the region, as described by Alexander Schmidt, lead author and biologist at the University of Gottingen in Germany.

He and his colleagues believe that further analysis will be able to explain how the evolutionary process of ants and ant Ethiopians are biologically connected to the Cretaceous of the northern hemisphere.

The text is the culmination of five-year study by 20 researchers from seven countries, including specialists in estimating the date of discovery and experts outside of insects and flora.

"It is an interdisciplinary project and a full attention to producing holistic studies," said Schmidt.

Samples are currently stored in its original place in Berlin and Vienna, although some are still in the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

Mystery "River" in the Sea of Mexico

River in the sea. It is not scientifically possible. A diver, Anatoly Beloshchin, take a picture 'of the river in the sea' from the depth of 60 meters water cenote Angelita, Mexico.

At a depth of more than 30 yards a team of divers to find fresh water in the middle of the ocean water column. Conditions changed and divers returned to find the sea water began to pass 60 meters depth.

A few yards from the site will find a cave. At the bottom of the cave diving team discovered a river complete with trees and leaves that float in the water column.
It turned out that location is not the river, as seen on the mainland. However, the atmosphere was like a river complete with a layer of such colored water slightly brown.

But wait, it's not comes from brown fresh water. Mentioned, like the brown river water is the bottom layer of hydrogen sulfide gas. Gas is usually produced from sewage.
Overall, the team's divers found the conditions very surprising and amazing to look at.

"In the depths of 60 meters I found the water again. I saw a river, island, complete with falling leaves. But the river that we see is a layer of hydrogen sulfide gas," said Anatoly.
